Healthy Coffee Anyone?

Oh, how the world loves coffee. Did you know that, next to oil, coffee is the world’s largest commodity?

First of all, if you don’t already drink coffee, don’t start.

However, if you DO drink coffee and aren’t planning to quit anytime soon—and let’s face it, this applies to most of the world—then there are a few things you might want to consider.

I’ll talk about healthy coffee further down, but before I do, here are some things you should know:

According to a Harvard study, moderate coffee consumption doesn’t cause harm, and can actually lead to lower risk of type 2 diabetes and some other medical concerns. However, the same study warns that caffeine can increase heart rate and blood pressure.

And according to brain specialist Dr. Amen, high caffeine intake can cause diminished blood flow to the brain. And even moderate consumption affects hormone levels and function.

Also, coffee is known to dehydrate the body. Remember that every single system of your body is compromised when you aren’t properly hydrated., so be sure to up your water intake if you drink coffee.

What about you?

How do you feel when you drink coffee? Do you feel great? Do you feel jittery or irritable? Do you get more anxiety?

How about when you crash? Do you rely on coffee to get through the day? Do you find yourself reacting mentally, emotionally, or physically when the coffee wears off or if you haven’t had any that day?

No judgment here. I just want you to think about it.

And if you take cream or sugar in your coffee, consider how these have repercussions to your health. Sugar, dairy, and coffee are ALL highly acidic. And acidic foods increase inflammation in the body, which is one of the main causes of all disease.

My boyfriend, Casey, loves coffee! In fact, he used to drink way too much caffeine.

But…

He recently found a coffee that is blended with one of the most powerful herbs in the world.

And to a coffee snob like him, finding a great tasting coffee that doesn’t come with the jitters and crashes of regular coffee is huge. Huge!

And, no, it doesn’t taste anything like you’ve got mushroom in your coffee. It tastes like really good coffee!

Yeah. So Ganoderma (a.k.a. Red Reishi) pretty much rocks.

It also makes this coffee PH balanced, regulating the acid that is usually a big complaint from regular coffee.
